For this project I created the album art for an imagined record by one of my favourite artists, Australia’s Stella Donnelly. Before creating the design for the packaging, I studied the artwork of all previous releases by Donnelly, in order to understand what tone and style I should be aiming for. Stella Donnelly’s releases generally heavily rely on candid photography with minimal or no manipulation and then simple typographic elements. I used a photo that Stella herself took of a bird, editing only the tone and warmth, and playing with the levels a bit - trying to keep the photo looking natural, but with a slightly vintage feel to it.
